استقبل سمو ولي العهد رئيس مجلس الوزراء الأمير محمد بن سلمان نيابة عن خادم الحرمين الشريفين، قادة الدول المشاركين في قمة الرياض بين مجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية ودول رابطة الآسيان، لدى وصولهم مقر انعقاد القمة اليوم الجمعة .

ويأتي انعقاد القمة في ظل ازدياد الاهتمام والتنافس الإقليميَين والدوليَين من قبل القوى العظمى على منطقة جنوب شرقي آسيا؛ نظراً لموقعها وأهميتها الجيوستراتيجية.
ومن المتوقع أن تُثمر القمة عن رفع مستوى التعاون والتنسيق المشترك في مختلف المجالات بين الجانبين إلى المستوى الاستراتيجي، واستكشاف الفرص الجديدة على صعد عدة.
