ذكرت وكالة "فرانس برس" نقلا عن مصدر مقرب من الحكومة السعودية، أن الرياض علقت مفاوضات التطبيع مع إسرائيل.

وتأتي هذه الأنباء في أعقاب العدوان الإسرائيلي المكثف على قطاع غزة منذ بدء عملية "طوفان الأقصى" التي شنتها حركة "حماس" السبت الماضي.
وذكرت وكالة "فرانس برس" نقلا عن مسؤول سعودي رفيع مطلع على المفاوضات لم تذكر اسمه، أن "السعودية قررت تعليق المحادثات التطبيع المحتمل مع إسرائيل، وأبلغت المسؤولين الأميركيين بذلك".
ولفتت الوكالة في وقت سابق إلى أن "الهجوم المباغت الذي شنته حماس ضد إسرائيل، أعاد تركيز الأنظار على القضية الفلسطينية ووجه ضربة للزخم الذي اكتسبه مسعى واشنطن لإبرام اتفاق تطبيع بين إسرائيل والسعودية".
وأفادت وكالة "رويترز" في وقت سابق نقلا عن مصدرين مطلعين بأن المملكة العربية السعودية جمدت الخطط التي تدعمها الولايات المتحدة لتطبيع العلاقات مع إسرائيل.
وبحسب "رويترز"، فإن هذا الإجراء يشير إلى إعادة تفكير سريعة في أولويات سياستها الخارجية مع تصاعد الحرب بين إسرائيل وحركة "حماس" الفلسطينية، حيث دفع الصراع المملكة إلى التعامل مع إيران، إذ تلقى ولي العهد السعودي الأمير محمد بن سلمان أول مكالمة هاتفية له من الرئيس الإيراني إبراهيم رئيسي بينما تحاول الرياض منع تصاعد أعمال العنف على نطاق أوسع في جميع أنحاء المنطقة.
ومن جانبها أكدت الرياض في أول تعليق لها على علمية "طوفان الأقصى" إدانتها للعدوان الإسرائيلي على قطاع غزة وحرمانه من حقوقه المشروعة.
كما أعلنت يوم الجمعة رفضها لدعوات "التهجير القسري" للفلسطينيين من قطاع غزة وندّدت باستمرار استهداف إسرائيل "للمدنيين العزّل".
وأكّد ولي العهد السعودي الثلاثاء للرئيس الفلسطيني محمود عباس أن "المملكة مستمرة في وقوفها إلى جانب الشعب الفلسطيني"، موضحا أنه يعمل على منع "اتّساع" نطاق النزاع.
