الفيضانات تقتل 3 في جواتيمالا و7 في المكسيك

أعلنت السلطات في جواتيمالا مقتل 3 أشخاص على الأقل يوم الاثنين جراء التيار القوي لنهر لاس فاكاس، ما تسبب في جرف عدة منازل في العاصمة جواتيمالا سيتي، بعد هطول أمطار غزيرة.
كما فُقد 15 شخصًا على الأقل، حسبما ذكرت الوكالة الوطنية لإدارة الطوارئ في الدولة الواقعة في أمريكا الوسطى.

وقالت السلطات إن نهر لاس فاكاس الذي فاض على ضفافه، جرف أكثر من 6 منازل تحت جسر إل نارانجو مساء الاثنين، وأفادت محطة إذاعة "إميسوراس أونيداس"، بأن عمال الإنقاذ بحثوا عن المفقودين في الوحل على امتداد 15 كيلومترًا من النهر.
تضامن مع العائلات المتضررةوكتب الرئيس أليخاندرو جياماتي على منصة التواصل الاجتماعي إكس: "بعد المأساة التي وقعت في مستوطنة ديوس إس بسبب الفيضانات، أعرب عن قلقي العميق وتضامني مع العائلات المتضررة".
يشار إلى أن جواتيمالا هي الدولة الأكثر اكتظاظًا بالسكان في أمريكا الوسطى، إذ يبلغ تعداد سكانها نحو 18 مليون نسمة، وغالبا ما تتسبب العواصف الرعدية هناك في حدوث انهيارات أرضية وفيضانات في موسم الأمطار مع وقوع العديد من الوفيات.
عمال الإنقاذ يحاولون مساعدة المتضررين من الفيضانات في جواتيمالا - موقع Anticipation Hubمصرع 7 في غرب المكسيكولقي 7 أشخاص مصرعهم في ولاية خاليسكو غرب المكسيك اليوم الثلاثاء، نتيجة فيضان نهر جراء هطول أمطار غزيرة.
وأوضح مدير الحماية المدنية لدى ولاية خاليسكو المكسيكية خوان فيراستيغوي، أن أمطارًا غزيرة هطلت بين الساعة الخامسة السابعة صباحًا بالتوقيت المحلي،وأن 9 أشخاص في عداد المفقودين، وتوفي 7 أشخاص في حصيلة مؤقتة.
وأدى هطول الأمطار إلى فيضان نهر إل كانغريخو الذي غمرت مياهه المنازل في بلدة أوتلان حيث يعيش نحو 60 ألف نسمة.
