عبرت مدير بعثة الكويت في «الآسياد»، فاطمة حيات، عن سعادتها بأول ميدالية كويتية في الدورة والتي حققها لاعب المبارزة يوسف الشملان بفوزه ببرونزية سلاح السابر.
وأهدت حيات هذا الانجاز الى القيادة السياسية والشعب الكويتي كافة والاسرة الرياضية، والذي تزامن مع الكلمات الابوية التي وجّهها سمو ولي العهد حفظه الله لأبنائه الرياضيين في لقائه معهم قبل أيام وبث فيهم روح الامل ومنحهم حافزاً ودعماً معنوياً كبيراً قبل انطلاق المنافسات.
وأضافت أن هذا الانجاز تحقق بفضل خطة الاعداد والتعاون المشترك بين اتحاد المبارزة واللجنة الاولمبية بتوجيهات من رئيس اللجنة الشيخ فهد الناصر.
وباركت حيات لرئيس اتحاد المبارزة عبدالكريم الشملان والأعضاء.
