The Presidential Council meets with Guterres to discuss developments in the situation in Yemen

The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, and the Council Member - President of the Southern Transitional Council, Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, discussed, on Friday, with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, the latest developments in the Yemeni situation, on the sidelines of the meetings of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Al-Alimi praised the role of the United Nations and its Secretary-General, and its appreciated efforts to contain the repercussions of the worst humanitarian crisis in the world created by the Houthi militias supported by the Iranian regime, putting the Secretary-General of the United Nations before the developments of the situation in Yemen, the economic, service and human rights reforms led by the Council and the government, and the required UN interventions on... All levels.
The meeting touched on the commendable mediation efforts led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman to renew the truce, launch a political process under the auspices of the United Nations, and the government’s openness to various initiatives that embody the terms of reference for a comprehensive solution agreed upon nationally, regionally, and internationally, especially the relevant international legitimacy resolutions.
The meeting reviewed urgent international interventions to reduce the effects of illegal immigration, combat money laundering, and move forward with plans to move from the relief phase to the sustainable development phase.
For his part, the Secretary-General of the United Nations affirmed the international organization’s commitment to supporting the Presidential Leadership Council and the government, mobilizing the necessary resources to alleviate human suffering, and harnessing all efforts to renew the truce, resume the political process and enable the Yemenis to build their state based on partnership and respect for human rights.

يقدّم الفيلم رحلة نفسية غامرة عبر قصة وحيدة، التي تعثر على أشرطة كاسيت مخبأة خلف باب أخضر، لتبدأ في كشف خيوط الحقيقة وراء وفاة شقيقتها التوأم. ومع تزايد وطأة طنين الأذن الذي يلاحقها، تقودها رحلتها إلى أعماق الجبال، حيث تُفتح أمامها أسرار مقلقة تغيّر مسار حياتها.
نايلة الخاجة تُعدّ أول مخرجة سينمائية في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، وقد عُرض فيلمها الروائي الطويل الأول "ثلاثة" عام 2024، محققًا عروضًا دولية في عدة دول من بينها تركيا. تشتهر الخاجة باستخدام لوحات لونية مميزة وديكورات داخلية معقدة، بينما تتناول أعمالها موضوعات الوصم الاجتماعي والتحولات الشخصية من خلال سرد بصري متعدد الطبقات.

Today: World Premiere of "Bab" in the Middle East and North Africa at Cairo International Film Festival
Today, Monday, November 17, the film Bab directed by Emirati filmmaker Nayla Al Khaja will have its Middle East and North Africa premiere as part of the Gala presentations at the 46th Cairo International Film Festival. The screening will take place at 9:00 PM on the Small Theatre stage at the Cairo Opera House, within the "Midnight Screenings" section.
Bab is a feature narrative film produced in the United Arab Emirates, spoken in Arabic, with a runtime of 97 minutes.
The film offers an immersive psychological journey through the story of Wheda, who discovers cassette tapes hidden behind a green door, beginning to unravel the mystery behind the death of her twin sister. As the ringing in her ears intensifies, her journey leads her deep into the mountains, where alarming secrets open up and change the course of her life.
Nayla Al Khaja is the first female film director in the United Arab Emirates. Her debut feature film Three premiered in 2024, achieving international screenings in several countries including Turkey. Al Khaja is known for her distinctive color palettes and intricate interior sets, while her work addresses social stigma and personal transformations through multi-layered visual storytelling.
