وكيل وزارة الخارجية: مملكة البحرين رائدة في التحول الرقمي ودعم الأهداف التنموية العالمية

أشاد سعادة الدكتور الشيخ عبد الله بن أحمد آل خليفة وكيل وزارة الخارجية للشؤون السياسية بتعزيز مملكة البحرين ريادتها كأنموذج في التحول الرقمي وتوظيف التقنيات الحديثة في دعم أهداف التنمية المستدامة في ظل المسيرة التنموية الشاملة بقيادة حضرة صاحب الجلالة الملك حمد بن عيسى آل خليفة ملك البلاد المُعظم، حفظه الله ورعاه، وتوجهات الحكومة برئاسة صاحب السمو الملكي الأمير سلمان بن حمد آل خليفة ولي العهد رئيس مجلس الوزراء، حفظه الله.
وأعرب لدى مشاركته في أولى فعاليات مبادرة «الرقمنة من أجل التنمية المستدامة» على هامش اجتماعات الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة بنيويورك، عن اعتزازه بتنظيم مملكة البحرين لهذه الفعالية الدولية بالشراكة مع برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي، والتعاون مع الاتحاد الدولي للاتصالات، ومنظمة التعاون الرقمي، ولجنة الأمم المتحدة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية لغرب آسيا (الإسكوا)، والبنك الإسلامي للتنمية، والجمعية الدولية لشبكات الهاتف المحمول، بما يدعم الشراكة الدولية في الاستفادة من الثورة الرقمية لتحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة، وفق برامج عمل ومشروعات محددة.
وأشار إلى قصة نجاح مملكة البحرين في التقدم التكنولوجي والرقمي، بحلولها في المرتبة الأولى عالميًا في انتشار الإنترنت بحسب البنك الدولي، وتغطية شبكات اتصالات الجيل الخامس بنسبة 100%، وتصنيفها ضمن الدول الرائدة وذات التنمية العالية في الحكومة الإلكترونية وفقًا للأمم المتحدة، وتوليها رئاسة منظمة التعاون الرقمي، وعضويتها الفاعلة في مجلس الاتحاد الدولي للاتصالات.
وأكد سعادة وكيل وزارة الخارجية للشؤون السياسية تطلع مملكة البحرين لاستدامة ريادتها كمركز إقليمي للابتكار الرقمي والذكاء الاصطناعي وتطوير مهارات ومعايير الأمن السيبراني، وفق استراتيجية متطورة لقطاع الاتصالات وتكنولوجيا المعلومات والاقتصاد الرقمي للأعوام 2022-2026، ومواكبة الثورة الرقمية بما يدعم أهداف التنمية المستدامة، بالتوافق مع خطة التعافي الاقتصادي وبرنامج الحكومة و رؤية البحرين الاقتصادية 2030.
وشارك في الجلسة الحوارية السيدة دورين بوغدان-مارتن، الأمين العام للاتحاد الدولي للاتصالات، والسيد هاوليانج شو، مساعد الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة المدير المساعد لبرنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي، إلى جانب عدد كبير من المعنين والمهتمين من الدول الأعضاء بالأمم المتحدة وممثلي شركات القطاع الخاص للتكنولوجيا والاتصالات والمنظمات الدولية والإقليمية، الذين شاركوا آراءهم حول الجهود المبذولة والمشاريع المقترحة لتعزيز التحول الرقمي في الدول العربية وكيفية دمجه في أهداف التنمية المستدامة.

وأعرب البروفيسور وهيب الخاجة عن اعتزاز الجامعة بمشاركة الأشقاء السعوديين فرحتهم بهذه المناسبة الوطنية العزيزة، مشيدًا بالعلاقات الأخوية المتينة التي تربط مملكة البحرين والمملكة العربية السعودية، والتي تمتد بجذورها العميقة في التاريخ. كما أعرب عن فخره بخريجي وطلاب الجامعة من المملكة العربية السعودية، الذين يمثلون نموذجًا مشرفًا للعلم والتميز، ويعتبرون سفراء للجامعة بفضل جهودهم الأكاديمية ومساهماتهم العلمية في مختلف المجالات.
