For causing billions of dollars in damage to public funds in the state!!!
And misleading the population by downplaying the dangers of fossil fuels and their impact on climate change, according to the New York Times.

The companies are: “Exxon Mobil”… and “Shell”… And British Petroleum… And ConocoPhillips… And “chevron”
In addition to the “American Petroleum Institute”

The text of the lawsuit included: “The deception of oil and gas companies for decades caused a delay in the societal response to global warming!?!”

“Their misconduct has resulted in huge costs to people, property and natural resources, costs that continue to unfold daily.”

California is calling for the establishment of a fund to cover future damages resulting from climate disasters in the state, which is on the front lines in the face of forest fires caused by #climate_change, floods, and other natural phenomena?!

The lawsuit comes after several lawsuits filed by American cities, counties, and states against fossil fuel companies??
This is what leaders and governments do that put the human interest and the health of citizens above all else??
