بدء أعمال الدورة 54 لمجلس الأمم المتحدة لحقوق الإنسان بجنيف

بدأ مجلس الأمم المتحدة لحقوق الإنسان اليوم في جنيف أعمال دورته الـ 54، والتي تستمر حتى 11 أكتوبر القادم.
ويناقش المجلس في هذه الدورة أوضاع حقوق الإنسان في عدد من الدول، وعدد من قضايا حقوق الإنسان من بينها، الكراهية الدينية التي تشكل تحريضًا على التمييز، وكراهية الأجانب وما يتصل بذلك من أشكال التعصب، والحق في الحصول على مياه الشرب المأمونة، والتمييز وحقوق كبار السن والتغير المناخي وحقوق المرأة والطفل.
وشدد مفوض الأمم المتحدة السامي لحقوق الإنسان، فولكر تورك على أهمية التركيز في تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة، والقضاء على الجوع والفقر وإصلاح البنية المالية الدولية، والتوصل إلى صفقات أكثر عدالة بشأن تخفيف أعباء الديون وتمويل التنمية، وضرورة التحول إلى الاقتصادات الخضراء ومعالجة خسائر وأضرار التغير المناخي، داعيًا إلى إنهاء التشرد وضمان السكن اللائق للجميع والحفاظ على الكرامة الإنسانية.
