بسبب واقعة "فحص نسائي" ـ أستراليا ترفض منح "القطرية" رحلات إضافية

وزيرة النقل الأسترالية قالت إن عمليات الفحص الجسدي القسرية التي خضعت لها مسافرات كانت "قرينة" لاتخاذ قرار بحرمان شركة الطيران من تشغيل المزيد من الرحلات الجوية إلى أستراليا، موضحة " "لم يكن هذا العامل الوحيد. لكنه أحد العوامل".
أشارت الحكومة الأسترالية إلى عمليات تفتيش "جسدية" قسرية خضعت لها مسافرات في الدوحة قبل ثلاث سنوات باعتبارها عاملا في اتخاذ القرار بعدم منح شركة الطيران القطرية الوطنية رحلات إضافية.
وأجبرت مسافرات على سلسلة من رحلات الخطوط الجوية القطرية، بما في ذلك رحلة متجهة إلى سيدني، على الخضوع لفحوص نسائية في تشرين الاول/أكتوبر 2020 بينما كانت السلطات تبحث عن والدة طفل حديث الولادة عُثر عليه في حمام المطار.

وأضافت كينغ أنها قررت في 10 تموز/يوليو رفض طلب الخطوط الجوية القطرية تسيير مزيد من الرحلات إلى سيدني وملبورن وبريزبن من أجل "المصلحة الوطنية". وتابعت "في هذا السياق، هذه هي شركة الطيران الوحيدة التي لديها شيء كهذا"، في إشارة إلى عمليات التفتيش الجسدي الحميمة التي جرت عام 2020 وأثارت غضبا دوليا.
ويتهم معارضون حكومة حزب العمال التي تمثل يسار الوسط بمحاولة حماية شركة الطيران الأسترالية كوانتاس من المنافسة على الرغم من أرباحها القياسية، ما أدى إلى ارتفاع أسعار الرحلات الدولية.
وشددت كينغ أن هناك "عوامل عدة أثرت في هذا القرار". ولفتت إلى أن الخطوط الجوية القطرية التي تسيّر 28 رحلة دولية أسبوعيا إلى أستراليا يمكن أن تعزز الرحلات الدولية إلى كانبيرا ومطارات إقليمية أخرى.
وكانت خمس نساء قد رفعن دعوى قضائية ضد الخطوط الجوية القطرية وهيئة الطيران المدني القطرية بشأن الفحوص النسائية القسرية عام 2020.
وفي حديثها للصحفيين في كانبيرا اليوم الخميس (7 أيلول/سبتمبر 2023) قالت كينغ إن عمليات الفحص الجسدي القسرية التي خضعت لها مسافرات، من بينهن خمس أستراليات، في مطار حمد الدولي عام 2020 كانت "قرينة" لاتخاذ قرار بحرمان شركة الطيران من تشغيل المزيد من الرحلات الجوية إلى أستراليا في يوليو تموز هذا العام، موضحة " "لم يكن هذا العامل الوحيد. لكنه أحد العوامل".
واعتبرت الوزيرة أنه من "الهراء" القول إن إضافة المزيد من رحلات الخطوط الجوية القطرية سيضغط على أسعار الرحلات الدولية. وتقول لجنة المنافسة وحماية المستهلك في أستراليا، وهي الجهة المعنية بمكافحة الاحتكار، إن زيادة رحلات الخطوط القطرية كان من شأنه أن يخفض الأسعار.
وذكرت شبكة "آيه بي سي" الأسترالية أن كينغ بعثت رسالة إلى النساء اللواتي تعرضن للتفتيش في اليوم الذي اتخذت فيه قرارها بشأن رفض طلب الخطوط الجوية القطرية، قائلة إنها صُدمت من المعاملة "المشينة" التي تعرضن لها في الدوحة. وتم ارسال طلب إلى السفارة القطرية في كانبيرا للتعليق على تصريحات الوزيرة.
