ولي العهد يعلن تأسيس منظمة عالمية للمياه مقرها الرياض/ عاجل

أعلن صاحب السمو الملكي الأمير محمد بن سلمان بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود، ولي العهد رئيس مجلس الوزراء – حفظه الله – عن تأسيس المملكة العربية السعودية لمنظمةٍ عالميةٍ للمياه مقرها الرياض تهدف إلى تطوير وتكامل جهود الدول والمنظمات لمعالجة تحديات المياه بشكلٍ شمولي، من خلال تبادل وتعزيز التجارب التقنية والابتكار والبحوث والتطوير، وتمكين إنشاء المشاريع النوعية ذات الأولوية وتيسير تمويلها، سعياً لضمان استدامة موارد المياه وتعزيزاً لفرص وصول الجميع إليها.

تأتي هذه المبادرة تأكيداً لدور المملكة في التصدي لتحديات المياه حول العالم والتزامها بقضايا الاستدامة البيئية، وانطلاقاً مما قدمته على مدار عقود من تجربةٍ عالميةٍ رائدة في إنتاج ونقل وتوزيع المياه وابتكار الحلول التقنية لتحدياتها، ومساهمتها في وضع قضايا المياه على رأس الأجندة الدولية، ومن ذلك تقديمها تمويلات تجاوزت 6 مليارات دولار لدول في 4 قارات حول العالم لصالح مشاريع المياه والصرف الصحي.
وستعمل المنظمة على تحقيق أهدافها مع الدول التي تواجه تحدياتٍ في موضوع المياه وتولي المشاريع المتعلقة بها أولوية في أجندتها الوطنية، بالإضافة إلى الدول التي تملك خبرات ومساهمات فاعلة في حلول المياه، نظراً لتوقعات تضاعف الطلب العالمي للمياه بحلول عام 2050م نتيجة وصول عدد سكان العالم إلى (9.8 مليارات) نسمة وفق التقديرات.
وتتطلع المملكة بالتعاون مع الدول الأعضاء إلى المساهمة في تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة الرامية الى ضمان وفرة المياه وتحقيق الأثر الشامل من خلال تضافر الجهود لتمهيد الطريق لمستقبل مائي آمن ومستدام للجميع.
