سوريا تشكر قطر والسعودية على دعمهما في سداد مستحقات البنك الدولي

سوريا – أعربت السلطات السورية، امس الأحد، عن شكرها لقطر والسعودية، على سداد المتأخرات المالية المستحقة على سوريا لدى مجموعة البنك الدولي، والبالغة 15 مليون دولار.
وقالت وزارة الخارجية السورية، في بيان عبر منصة “تلغرام”، إن دمشق “تتقدم بالشكر والتقدير العميق لكل من دولة قطر والمملكة العربية السعودية على المبادرة الأخوية الكريمة بالإعلان عن سداد المتأخرات المالية المستحقة على سوريا لدى مجموعة البنك الدولي، والتي بلغت 15 مليون دولار أمريكي”.
وأضاف البيان، أن هذه الخطوة “تعكس الحرص المشترك على دعم الشعب السوري وتخفيف الأعباء الاقتصادية عنه، كما تفتح الباب أمام تعزيز التعاون مع المؤسسات الدولية بما يخدم مسار التعافي وإعادة الإعمار”.
وأكدت الخارجية في البيان أن “التعاون العربي المشترك هو السبيل الأمثل لمواجهة التحديات الراهنة”.
وقالت إنها “تتطلع إلى تعزيز العلاقات مع الأشقاء في قطر والسعودية والمضي قدما نحو شراكات فعالة تخدم مصالح الشعوب وتكرّس الاستقرار في المنطقة”.
وفي وقت سابق اليوم، أعلنت وزارتا المالية في السعودية وقطر سداد متأخرات سوريا لدى مجموعة البنك الدولي، والتي تبلغ نحو 15 مليون دولار، بحسب ما نقلته وكالة الأنباء السعودية الرسمية (واس).
وأوضح البيان أن السداد يأتي “استمرارا لجهود السعودية ودولة قطر في دعم وتسريع وتيرة تعافي اقتصاد الجمهورية العربية السورية الشقيقة، وفي ضوء ما تمت مناقشته خلال اجتماع الطاولة المستديرة بشأن سوريا على هامش اجتماعات الربيع لمجموعة البنك الدولي وصندوق النقد الدولي”.
وأشار إلى أن سداد المتأخرات “سيمكّن من استئناف دعم مجموعة البنك الدولي لسوريا، بعد انقطاع دام لأكثر من أربعة عشر عاما”.
كما سيتيح “حصول سوريا على مخصصات من البنك الدولي في الفترة القريبة القادمة لدعم القطاعات الملحّة، إضافة إلى الدعم الفني الذي سيسهم بدوره في إعادة بناء المؤسسات وتنمية القدرات وإصلاح السياسات لدفع وتيرة التنمية”، بحسب البيان المشترك.
والخميس، قالت مديرة صندوق النقد الدولي كريستالينا جورجيفا، إن هدفهم مساعدة سوريا على إعادة بناء مؤسساتها، وبالتالي الانخراط في الاقتصاد العالمي.
وذكرت جورجيفا، في مؤتمر صحفي عقدته ضمن اجتماعات الربيع لصندوق النقد والبنك الدولي، إنهم عقدوا اجتماعا مع سوريا بحضور محافظ البنك المركزي ووزير المالية السوريين “لأول مرة منذ أكثر من 20 عاما”.
وتتطلع السلطات السورية إلى دعم دولي وإقليمي لمساعدتها في معالجة تداعيات 24 سنة من حكم الرئيس المخلوع بشار الأسد (2000-2024).
ومنذ الإطاحة بنظام بشار الأسد، تطالب الإدارة السورية برفع العقوبات عن دمشق؛ كونها “تمنع نهضة البلاد”.
