تطبيع النقاش حول عودتهم من عدمها هو ما يريده البرهان، تهيئة الرأي العام لقبول الجدل حول قضية عودة الخونة، وإثارة الجدل حولها، وجعلها محل نقاش يومي، هي من صميم رغبات التوهان. فحالة التعود على فرص رجوعهم هي واحدة من الأساليب التي انتهجها البرهان طيلة سنين حكمه، يطرح قضايا مثيرة كالاتفاق الإطاري، يخلق صدمة، يرفضها الناس، يخلق حالة انقسام، تظهر أصوات داعمة تبررها، ثم يعيد النقاش حولها حتى تتحول إلى أمر واقع ويتم تمريرها للقبول .
يعيد البرهان نفس أساليبه ويمرر أهدافه بطريقة صادمة لفتح النقاش حولها، فيظهر صحفيون مطبلون ليقولوا: “ما قاله البرهان ممتاز، لفتة بارعة، ذكاء حاد، وعقل أخاذ من رجل كاهن أحرج حقت ومن يواليها! ..
هذه الاستراتيجيات المعروفة والتي تشبه إلى حد ما ما يعرف في السياسات العامة بنافذة أوفرتون Overton Window، القائمة على تسريب الأفكار الصادمة وجعلها قابلة للقبول والتطبيق عن طريق التلاعب بالرأي العام وتشكيله وفقاً لرغبات البرهان ومعاونيه ..
رمي فكرة العودة والعفو عن المتآمرين مع الجنجويد في ميدان العامة وقياس الرأي العام حولها، ومن ثم تغيير اتجاهات المواطنين من رافضين بصورة صارمة للتسامح معهم، ثم جعلها فكرة يمكن خوض النقاش حولها ومن ثم مقبولة “وضرورية” لصالح الاستقرار والمصالحة الوطنية ..
ستفشل هذه الأساليب، وسيحكم السودانيون على من خانهم وباعهم بالنفي والنسيان والرفض والحرمان. فالسودانيون لا ينسون، ويعرفون صديقهم من عدوهم، ولسان حالهم قول الشاعر السوداني محجوب البيلي:
وعزة تعرف من خانها
في الخفاء، ومن باعها للقبائل
وتعرف أنّ القصاص قريب
وليل المهانة لا بدّ زائل
