أستاذ أورام: علاج جديد يمزج بين المناعي والجيني لاستهداف ورم جدار الرئة

أعلنت الدكتورة علا خورشيد، أستاذ ورئيس أقسام الأورام بمعهد الأورام ورئيس المؤتمر الدولي للمؤسسة الدولية لأورام الصدر (OnTic)، عن نجاح علاج جديد يمزج بين العلاج المناعي والعلاج الجيني لاستهداف ورم جدار الرئة (الميزوثليوما)، وهو من أكثر الأورام ندرة وخطورة.
وأوضحت الدكتورة علا خورشيد ، فى تصريحات لـ"البوابة نيوز"، على هامش المؤتمر الدولى الخامس لأورام الصدر ، والذى يعقد على مدى يومين ، أن العلاج الجديد يعتمد على تحفيز جهاز المناعة للتعرف على الخلايا السرطانية وتدميرها، بالتزامن مع تعطيل الجينات المسؤولة عن تكاثر هذه الخلايا في جدار الرئة والغشاء البلوري.
وقالت خورشيد، إن هذا الابتكار يمثل قفزة نوعية في علاج مرضى الميزوثليوما، الذين كانوا يواجهون خيارات علاجية محدودة للغاية لافتة إلى أن الجمع بين العلاج المناعي والجيني فتح آفاقا جديدة في السيطرة على الورم وتحسين جودة حياة المرضى.
وأشارت الدكتورة علا إلى أن نتائج المرحلة الأولى من التجارب السريرية أظهرت استجابة إيجابية لدى أكثر من 65% من المرضى الذين يعانون من الورم في مراحله المتقدمة، وشهد المرضى تحسنا ملحوظا في الأعراض المرتبطة بالورم، مثل ضيق التنفس وألم الصدر.
وأضافت أن هذه النتائج تعد الأولى من نوعها في تحقيق تقدم ملموس في علاج هذا النوع من الأورام، الذي يرتبط غالبا بالتعرض لمادة الأسبستوس.
وقالت الدكتورة علا فى ختام تصريحها “نتطلع الآن إلى الانتقال للمرحلة الثانية من التجارب السريرية بهدف تحسين فعالية العلاج وتوسيع نطاقه ليشمل مرضى أكثر. هذا العلاج يحمل في طياته الأمل لآلاف المرضى الذين كانوا يفتقرون إلى خيارات علاجية فعالة”.
تجدر الإشارة إلى أن هذه النتائج تتماشى مع أحدث الأبحاث العالمية التي أكدت أن العلاجات الموجهة، مثل العلاج المناعي والجيني، تحقق نسب استجابة أعلى وأعراض جانبية أقل مقارنة بالعلاجات التقليدية.
يذكر أن منظمة الصحة العالمية توصى بتكثيف الجهود في هذا المجال لمواجهة الأورام النادرة كجزء من استراتيجيتها لمكافحة السرطان عالميا.

وأضاف المانع إن الهدف من خلال هذه الحملات هو تسليط الضوء على آخر المستجدَّات في مجالات الرعاية الصحية المختلفة، وتمكين المرضى والزوار من اتخاذ قراراتٍ صحيةٍ مدروسةٍ تؤثر بشكلٍ إيجابيٍّ على صحتهم وحياتهم اليومية، مؤكدًا أن مستشفيات المانع ستواصل تعزيز برامجها التثقيفية والوقائية في المستقبل؛ لتحسين مستوى الوعي الصحي في المجتمع، ودعم جهود مكافحة الأمراض.
وشملت الحملة فروع المستشفى بمختلف المناطق، ففي مستشفى المانع - فرع الخُبَر، تمَّ تقديم استشاراتٍ طبيةٍ حول التغذية والسكري وصحة المرأة، مع استقبال أكثر من 150 مريضًا، كما تمَّ تنظيم محاضراتٍ توعويةٍ في عيادات المانع - الراكة حول السكري، السمنة، الكلى، والصحة النفسية.
وفي مستشفى المانع - العزيزية بالدمام، تمَّ التركيز على مواضيع النساء والولادة، العلاج الطبيعي، مختبر النوم، وطب الأسنان، أما في مستشفى المانع - الجبيل، فقد شملت الحملة محاضراتٍ توعويةً عن السمنة، السكري، وأمراض الكلى، وفي مستشفى المانع - الأحساء، تمَّ تقديم محاضراتٍ حول السكري، السمنة، والتغذية، بالإضافة إلى تنظيم حملة تبرع بالدم، التي شهدت مشاركةً كبيرةً من المتبرعين، كذلك في مستشفى المانع بالدمام تضمَّنت الحملة محاضراتٍ توعويةً عن السمنة، السكري، والعلاج الطبيعي.
