مع اقتراب موعد حظرها..أونروا تحذر من شلل عملياتها

حذرت وكالة غوث وتشغيل اللاجئين الفلسطينيين، أونروا أمس السبت، من تعرض عملياتها للشلل مع اقتراب سريان القرار الإسرائيلي حظر عملياتها المتوقع بنهاية يناير (كانون الثاني) الجاري.
وقالت أونروا في بيان مقتضب: "الوقت يوشك على النفاد بالنسبة للحظر المحتمل على الوكالة، والذي قد يمنعها من تقديم الخدمات لملايين اللاجئين الفلسطينيين".وأضاف البيان أن الأمم المتحدة "لا تخطط لاستبدال الوكالة، وأن الكنيست، البرلمان الإسرائيلي، يجب أن يغير قراره بحظرها".
يشار إلى أنه في 28 أكتوبر(تشرين الأول) 2024، وافق البرلمان الإسرائيلي على قانونين، الأول يمنع أونروا من العمل في إسرائيل، ومن المقرر أن يدخل حيز التنفيذ في غضون ثلاثة أشهر، بينما ينهي الثاني جميع التعاملات الإسرائيلية مع الوكالة الأممية، ما يلغي جميع الاتفاقيات الموقعة في السابق.

وعبرت الأمم المتحدة عن قلقها البالغ من اعتماد هذه القوانين، داعية الحكومة الإسرائيلية إلى السماح لأونروا بالاستمرار في عملها، واحترام التزامات إسرائيل بموجب القانون الدولي.
