بتغيير رئيسي.. اتفاقية محتملة بين السعودية والولايات المتحدة

تبحث الولايات المتحدة والسعودية عقد اتفاقية أمنية محتملة، لا تتضمن صفقة أوسع مع إسرائيل، بحسب ما أورد موقع أكسيوس، الاثنين، نقلا عن 3 مصادر مطلعة على المحادثات.
وحسب الموقع فإن الاتفاقية التي تتم مناقشتها حاليا "ليست دفاعية"، كما أن ولي العهد السعودي محمد بن سلمان والبيت الأبيض يريدان التوصل لها قبل مغادرة الرئيس جو بايدن منصبه في يناير 2025.

— Axios (@axios) November 4, 2024وقبل الهجوم الذي شنته فصائل فلسطينية مسلحة أبرزها حركة حماس على مستوطنات غلاف غزة في السابع من أكتوبر 2023، كانت إدارة بايدن تتفاوض مع السعودية وإسرائيل على صفقة ضخمة، تشمل اتفاق سلام بين البلدين.
لكن هذه الهجمات وتداعياتها من جبهات الحرب المفتوحة بين إسرائيل وفصائل ودول منذ أكثر من عام، حالت دون إتمام هذه الصفقة في المدى القريب، بحسب "أكسيوس".
وقالت المصادر إن مستشار الأمن القومي السعودي مسعد بن محمد العيبان زار البيت الأبيض الأسبوع الماضي والتقى نظيره الأميركي جيك سوليفان ومستشاري بايدن بريت ماكغورك وآموس هوكستين، كما التقى وزير الخارجية أنتوني بلينكن.
وأضافت أن المحادثات في البيت الأبيض ركزت على العلاقات الثنائية الأميركية السعودية، لا سيما مجموعة من الاتفاقيات الأمنية والتكنولوجية والاقتصادية، التي يريد الطرفان توقيعها قبل مغادرة بايدن الرئاسة.
وقال أحد المصادر لـ"أكسيوس" إن الاتفاق الأمني الذي نوقش في الاجتماع "منفصل عن الجهود المبذولة لدفع صفقة ضخمة تشمل تطبيع العلاقات بين إسرائيل والسعودية".
وبين أن الفكرة صياغة اتفاقية أمنية ثنائية أميركية سعودية مماثلة لتلك التي وقعتها إدارة بايدن مع دول خليجية أخرى في السنوات الأخيرة، مما عزز الموقف الأميركي في المنطقة.
وكانت تقارير أوردت قبل أشهر أن الولايات المتحدة تبحث مع السعودية شروط معاهدة دفاعية شبيهة بالاتفاقيات العسكرية مع اليابان وكوريا الجنوبية، وفقًا لمسؤولين أميركيين.
وأوضحت التقارير وقتها أن إدارة بايدن تسعى من خلال هذه الاتفاقية لدفع السعودية إلى تطبيع العلاقات مع إسرائيل.
وبحسبها فإن هذه الاتفاقية كانت تقوم على التزام الولايات المتحدة بشكل عام بتقديم الدعم العسكري إذا تعرضت السعودية لهجوم في المنطقة، أو على الأراضي السعودية.
