ستارمر وميقاتي يجتمعان في لندن لمناقشة الأوضاع بالشرق الأوسط

استقبل رئيس الوزراء البريطاني كير ستارمر، أمس الاثنين، رئيس الوزراء اللبناني نجيب ميقاتي في مقر مجلس الوزراء البريطاني بالعاصمة لندن.
ووفقا لبيان صدر عن مكتب رئيس الوزراء البريطاني، أعرب ستارمر لميقاتي عن تعازيه لفقدان أرواح المدنيين في لبنان بسبب الصراع الدائر في الشرق الأوسط.
واتفق الزعيمان على الضرورة الملحة لوقف إطلاق النار الفوري في لبنان، والتوصل إلى حل سياسي يتماشى مع قرار مجلس الأمن الدولي رقم 1701، كما أبرزا أهمية حماية أرواح المدنيين والبنية الأساسية الحيوية في لبنان.
وفيما يتعلق بالصراع الإقليمي الأوسع نطاقًا، أوضح ستارمر الحاجة إلى أن تعمل جميع الأطراف على تهدئة الأوضاع والعمل نحو سلام مستدام طويل الأمد في الشرق الأوسط، كما ناقشا العلاقات الثنائية بين بريطانيا ولبنان.
