بريطانيا تحظر السجائر الإلكترونية في العام 2025

قررت الحكومة البريطانية حظر السجائر الإلكترونية أحادية الاستخدام اعتباراً من منتصف العام المقبل، معللة قرارها بالآثار البيئية السلبية لهذه المنتجات وعدم قابليتها لإعادة الرسكلة.
وأوضحت وزارتا الصحة والبيئة البريطانيتان، في بيان مشترك، أن هذه الخطوة تهدف إلى حماية البيئة والحد من استخدام الشباب للسجائر الإلكترونية، وقد كشف أندرو جوين، وزير الصحة العامة والوقاية، أن ربع الأطفال في الفئة العمرية مابين 11 و15 عاماً استخدموا السجائر الإلكترونية العام الماضي.
وأظهر استطلاع حديث في إنجلترا أن نحو مليون بالغ من غير المدخنين المنتظمين بدؤوا باستخدام السجائر الإلكترونية، مع تركز هذه الزيادة بين الشباب في الفئة العمرية 18-24 عاماً، فيما ارتفع استخدام هذه السجائر في إنجلترا بنسبة تجاوزت 400% بين عامي 2012 و2023.
ووفقاً لتقديرات مجموعة "ماتيريال فوكس" غير الربحية، يتم التخلص من نحو 5 ملايين سيجارة إلكترونية أسبوعياً.
ومن المنتظر أن يدخل الحظر حيز التنفيذ في غُرّة حزيران/ يونيو 2025، مع منح الشركات مهلة لبيع مخزونها المتبقي.
