نجح مستشفى الدكتور سليمان الحبيب بالخبر، في إستئصال ورماً ليفياً ضخماً مع المحافظة على الرحم، لمراجعة تبلغ من العمر 52عاماً ، عانت على مدى أعوام عده من نوبات حادة من الألم المزمن بمنطقة الحوض، ونزيف وانتفاخ مؤلم ومزمن بالبطن مع ضغط مستمر على الظهر، ذكرت ذلك الدكتورة رذاذ أبو الحمايل استشارية النساء والولادة، رئيسة الفريق الطبي المعالج.

والتي أضافت عند وصول المراجعة للعيادة، تم الإستماع إلى شكواها والإطلاع على تاريخها الطبي، وتبين أنها بدأت تعاني من أعراض الألم والنزيف والاستفراغ قبل سنوات، وقد زارت العديد من المستشفيات في محاولة منها للعلاج، متخذين القرار باستئصال الرحم بالكامل مع الورم، وهو الأمر الذي رفضته المراجعة لرغبتها الملحة في المحافظة على الرحم، الأمر الذي دفعها للبحث عن العلاج في مستشفى آخر.

مشيرة إلى أن حدة الأعراض زادت لدى المراجعة في الشهور الأخيرة، وحاجتها الماسة لنقل دم كل شهرين، مما أثر بالسلب على أداء مهامها اليومية، وبناءاً على نتائج الفحوصات قرر الفريق الطبي التدخل الجراحي العاجل، للحيلولة دون إصابتها بمزيد من المضاعفات الحادة.
وعن العملية قالت الدكتورة أبو الحمايل، أن الجراحة تجاوزت الساعتين تحت التخدير النصفي، وتم فيها تحرير الورم من التصاقاته واستئصاله بالكامل دون الحاجة لنقل وحدات دم، مع المحافظة على الرحم، كما تم إعادة الأمعاء إلى مكانها الطبيعي، مع فك وإزالة الضغط عن المستقيم والمثانة والأعضاء الداخلية بالبطن.
