نجح مستشفى الدكتور سليمان الحبيب الطبي بالخبر، في إجراء عملية منظار استغرقت "12" ساعة لمريض "ستيني"، تمت فيها إزالة ورم سحائي ضخم سبب ضغطاً على عدة مراكز حيوية بقاع الجمجمة الأمامي، ونتج عن ذلك حزمة من الأعراض الحادة.

وكان المريض قد راجع المستشفى مشتكياً من صداع مزمن وفقدان تام لحاسة الشم، وعلى الفور خضع لعدة فحوصات دقيقة، بدأت بالمعاينة السريرية، ومن ثم تحاليل الدم، وصور الأشعة المقطعية والرنين المغناطيسي، وأظهرت النتائج وجود ورم سحائي ضاغط بقاع الجمجمة الأمامي، وتدارس الفريق الطبي الذي قاده د.

محمد البار استشاري جراحات الأنف والأذن والحنجرة وجراحات قاع الجمجمة، ود. وسام العيساوي استشاري جراحات أورام الدماغ وقاع الجمجمة ملف الحالة، وخلص إلى ضرورة التدخل العاجل لإزالة الورم، وأجريت للمريض عملية دقيقة باستخدام المنظار الجراحي، وتمت فيها إزالة الورم بشكل كامل، دون الإضرار بالأعصاب والأوعية الدموية والمراكز الحيوية المحيطة به.

وقال د. وسام العيساوي أن العملية التي استمرت لـ"12" ساعة، انتهت ولله الحمد بنجاح باهر، مؤكداً أن الفريق الطبي أظهر تميزه في هذه العملية، التي اتسمت بتعقيدات كثيرة أبرزها أن الورم كان في منطقة بالغة الحساسية، ومحاطاً بالمراكز الحيوية، والأوعية الدموية والأعصاب الدقيقة، وكان التحدي الأول الذي واجه الفريق الطبي هو عدم تعريض هذه الأجزاء الحساسة لأي نوع من أنواع الضرر، وقد نجح في ذلك بامتياز، ووصف العملية بالكبيرة وتعد الأولى في المنطقة الشرقية لاستئصال ورم بهذا الحجم الكبير عن طريق الأنف. وقد بدأ المريض في التحسن التدريجي مع العناية الطبية الحثيثة، وغادر المستشفى لاحقاً بحالة صحية جيدة.
