بحمدالله تمكن الفريق الطبي في مستشفى المواساة بالخبر من إجراء مجموعة عمليات ناجحة لاستئصال الكلية المصابة بالسرطان بشكل جذري تحت إشراف د. عبدالرحمن عبدالكريم المحرج (استشاري المسالك البولية للأورام وجراحة الروبوت والمناظير وحصوات الكلى)، تمت الجراحة باستخدام الروبوت الجراحي بشكل دقيق من خلال فتحات صغيرة، وفي نهاية العملية تم توسيع أحد الجروح على حجم الكلية لاستخراجها ، ويستطيع المريض الخروج للمنزل والأكل بشكل طبيعي بعد يوم أو يومين من الجراحة على حسب التعافي وحالة المريض.

تساهم تقنية الروبوت الجراحي في إجراء العمليات المعقدة بشكل دقيق وتعافي أسرع ومضاعفات أقل مثل قلة النزيف وقلة الألم مقارنة بالشق الجراحي التقليدي، ويتطلب هذا النوع من العمليات وجود كوادر طبية متخصصة.
