واشنطن ترفض إفلات النظام السوري من العقاب بشأن استخدام الكيماوي

قال نائب المندوبة الأميركية بالأمم المتحدة، روبرت وود، إن النظام السوري أحجم عن احترام قرارات مجلس الأمن بشأن الأسلحة الكيماوية واستخدمها بشكل متكرر ضد السوريين.
وشدد وود على أن الإفلات من العقاب بشأن استخدام الأسلحة الكيميائية مرفوض بشكل مطلق.
وكانت منظمات حقوقية أعلنت في 2022 أنها قدمت إلى سلطات التحقيق والادعاء العام في كل من ألمانيا وفرنسا والسويد "أدلّة إضافية" على استخدام النظام السوري أسلحة كيميائية بين العامين 2013 و2017.
وقالت المنظمات غير الحكومية وهي "المركز السوري للإعلام وحرية التعبير" و"الأرشيف السوري" و"مبادرة عدالة المجتمع المفتوح" و"منظمة المدافعون عن الحقوق المدنية"، في بيان مشترك إنّها قدّمت هذه المستندات "في الذكرى الخامسة للهجوم بغاز السارين على خان شيخون".
وذكرت المنظمات في بيانها بأنه في 4 أبريل 2017 وقع "الهجوم المأساوي على مدينة خان شيخون، والذي استخدمت فيه الحكومة السورية غاز السارين وأسفر عن مقتل أكثر من مئة شخص، بينهم 32 طفلاً و23 امرأة".
كما استخدمت مادة الكلور في سوريا في هجوم على منطقة تسيطر عليها المعارضة في 2016، وفقًا لتقرير صدر في 2022 عن منظمة حظر الأسلحة الكيميائية.
وقع الهجوم في الأول من أكتوبر 2016، قرب مستشفى ميداني خارج بلدة كفر زيتا في محافظة حماة (شمال غرب سوريا) وأدى إلى إصابة 20 شخصا بصعوبات في التنفس، على ما أوردت منظمة حظر الأسلحة الكيميائية.
وفي 21 أغسطس 2012 شنت القوات النظامية السورية على الغوطة الشرقية القريبة من دمشق هجوما كيماويا واستخدمت فيه غاز السارين الذي يعد من أخطر الغازات في العالم، ما أسفر عن مقتل 1400 شخص بينهم 400 طفل.
وفي النزاع الذي يعصف بسوريا منذ 2011، اتهم مقاتلو المعارضة والقوات الموالية لدمشق على حد سواء بشن هجمات كيماوية، لكن غالبية الاتهامات تتعلق بأعمال منسوبة إلى القوات الموالية للرئيس بشار الأسد.
لطالما نفت الحكومة السورية ان تكون استخدمت أسلحة كيميائية وأكدت أنها وضعت كل مخزونها تحت إشراف دولي بعد اتفاق أبرمته العام 2013 مع منظمة حظر الأسلحة الكيميائية.
