لندن تدين تصريحات بن غفير التحريضية حول القدس

أعربت لندن، اليوم الجمعة، عن قلقها العميق جراء الأساليب التي تستخدمها القوات الإسرائيلية، في العملية العسكرية التي تشنها في الضفة الغربية المحتلة، داعية الدولة العبرية إلى ممارسة ضبط النفس، واحترام القانون الدولي.
وقال متحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية البريطانية: "نعترف بحق إسرائيل للدفاع عن نفسها في مواجهة التهديدات الأمنية، لكن نعرب عن قلقنا العميق من الأساليب التي تعتمدها إسرائيل، والتقارير عن ضحايا مدنيين وتدمير البنى التحتية المدنية"، مضيفاً أن "خطر انعدام الاستقرار حاد والحاجة إلى وقف التصعيد ملحة".

وتشن إسرائيل منذ 3 أيام عملية عسكرية واسعة النطاق، "لإحباط الإرهاب" في شمال الضفة الغربية، خصوصاً في جنين وطولكرم، حيث تنشط مجموعات فلسطينية مسلحة.
وعبر الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة أنطونيو غوتيريش، أمس الخميس، عن "قلقه الشديد"، ودعا إلى وقف فوري للعمليات الإسرائيلية، وندّد باستخدام الغارات الجوية على أهداف مدنية، مبدياً أسفه لخسائر في الأرواح، بينهم أطفال.
وأكدت وزارة الخارجية البريطانية في بيانها "نواصل دعوة السلطات الإسرائيلية إلى ممارسة ضبط النفس، واحترام القانون الدولي، وقمع تصرفات أولئك الذين يسعون إلى تأجيج التوترات".

وأضافت أن "بريطانيا تدين بشدة عنف المستوطنين، والتصريحات التحريضية، مثل تلك التي أدلى بها وزير الأمن القومي الإسرائيلي إيتمار بن غفير، والتي تهدد الوضع القائم للأماكن المقدسة في القدس".
وأثار بن غفير، الإثنين، الماضي، الجدل بعدما شكّك في الوضع القائم في باحات المسجد الأقصى، مبدياً تأييده بناء كنيس في المكان. وبموجب الوضع القائم بعد احتلال إسرائيل للقدس الشرقية في 1967، يمكن لغير المسلمين زيارة المسجد الأقصى في أوقات محدّدة بدون الصلاة، وهي قاعدة يخرقها أكثر فأكثر اليهود المتشدّدون.
