الصحة العالمية تعرب عن قلقها من ظهور شلل الأطفال في غزة

سرايا - أعرب مدير عام منظمة الصحة العالمية تيدروس أدهانوم غيبريسوس، عن قلقه البالغ إزاء تأكيد إصابة طفل يبلغ 10 أشهر بمرض شلل الأطفال في مدينة دير البلح وسط قطاع غزة.
جاء ذلك في سلسلة منشورات على منصة إكس، حول ظهور مرض شلل الأطفال بقطاع غزة الذي يتعرض لحرب إسرائيلية مدمرة.
وقال غيبريسوس: “أشعر بقلق بالغ إزاء التأكيد بأن طفلاً يبلغ 10 أشهر غير حاصل على التطعيم في دير البلح بغزة، أصيب بمرض شلل الأطفال للمرة الأولى منذ 25 عاماً”.
وأضاف في بيانه أن منظمة الصحة العالمية وشركاءها بدأوا على الفور العمل على جمع ونقل عينات البراز للطفل لفحصها في مختبر معتمد لدى منظمة الصحة العالمية في المنطقة.
وأشار إلى أن تسلسل الجينوم أكد أن الفيروس مرتبط بـ “فيروس شلل الأطفال من النوع الثاني”، الذي تم اكتشافه في العينات البيئية التي تم جمعها من مياه الصرف الصحي بغزة في حزيران الماضي.
وبين أن حالة الطفل المصاب بشلل أسفل ساقه اليسرى مستقرة، وأنه نظرا لارتفاع خطر الإصابة بالمرض في غزة ومحيطها فقد قررت وزارة الصحة الفلسطينية ومنظمة الصحة العالمية والأمم المتحدة ويونيسيف تنفيذ حملة تطعيم على مرحلتين لوقف انتقال الفيروس.
وفي السياق ذاته، كشف غيبريسوس أن آلاف الأشخاص لا يزالون يهجرون قسراً في منطقتي خان يونس ودير البلح بسبب أوامر الإخلاء المتكررة التي تصدرتها إسرائيل، وبالتالي هناك خطر الإصابة بشلل الأطفال.
وأكد المسؤول الأممي أن هذا الوضع يزيد من الصعوبات الجسدية والنفسية التي يواجهها الأطفال بقطاع غزة.
وقال: “لا يوجد أحد أو مكان آمن في غزة، لم يعد أمام الناس أي خيارات تقريبا بعد نزوحهم بشكل متكرر للعثور على مأوى ورعاية صحية وغيرها من الخدمات في بيئة مزدحمة ومليئة بالتحديات بالفعل”.
وأشار إلى أن قرارات الإخلاء الإسرائيلية قريبة من النقاط الطبية والمستشفيات في المناطق المتضررة؛ مما يتسبب في خطر تعطل هذه المرافق الصحية بسبب انعدام الأمن وعدم الوصول الآمن.
