نجح مستشفى الدكتور سليمان الحبيب بالخبر، في استئصال "122" عقدة ليمفاوية، منها "47" تحتوي على خلايا سرطانية، من رقبة مراجع "عشريني" عانى من عدة أعراض حادة ناتجة عن الورم الذي نشأ في الغدة الدرقية، ثم تشعب وانتشر في الغدد الليمفاوية، ذكر ذلك د. فاضل الحرز استشاري الجراحة العامة وجراحات الغدد الصماء والسمنة، رئيس الفريق الطبي المعالج.

والذي قال أن المراجع بحث عن العلاج في عدة مستشفيات، لكن محاولاته لم يكتب لها التوفيق، ومع تزايد حدة الأعراض راجع مستشفى الدكتور سليمان الحبيب بالخبر، فتم الاستماع لشكواه والإطلاع على تاريخه المرضي، وتشكيل فريق طبي مكون من استشاريي الجراحة العامة والأورام والتخدير وشارك فيه د.جمال الشواف استشاري الغدد، ومن ثم أخضع لفحوصات طبية دقيقة أبرزها التصوير بالأشعة النووية (PET C.T Scan) والتصوير الطبقي والسونار، وكشفت النتائج عن وجود بقايا للخلايا السرطانية في الغدد اللمفاوية المركزية والجانبية، ودرس الفريق الطبي الحالة، وانتهى إلى ضرورة التدخل الجراحي، للحيولة دون تمدد الأورام لمناطق أخرى وإثارة المزيد من الأعراض.
