قالت هيئة الدفاع المدني والإسعاف إن عام 2023 شهد تسجيل 166 حالة غرق مقارنة مع 324 حالة في عام 2022، أي بتراجع 158 حالة، لكنها دعت في الوقت نفسه جميع أفراد المجتمع على التقيد باشتراطات السلامة وأخذ الحيطة والحذر عند الخروج للرحلات البحرية والأودية والتجمعات المائية.
وتعد حوادث الغرق من الحوادث المؤلمة والمتكررة وبخاصة في فصل الصيف والتي تكثر في الغالب حول المسطحات المائية حيث يلجأ الناس للأودية والشواطئ هرباً من حرارة الجو والاستمتاع بالطبيعة الخلابة التي حباها الله بسلطنة عُمان، ومن ضمن هؤلاء من لا يجيد السباحة من الكبار إضافة إلى الأطفال.
وتُعزى أسباب حوادث الغرق بشكل عام إلى عدم إجادة السباحة إضافة إلى السباحة في الأماكن غير المخصصة كالبرك الزراعية والسدود وقنوات المياه والتجمعات المائية الخطرة وكذلك الإنقاذ العشوائي الذي يؤدي أحيانًا إلى غرق أكثر من شخص في نفس الوقت، وعدم مراقبة الأطفال أثناء الرحلات والتنزهات بالقرب من المسطحات المائية، وعدم التقيد باللوائح التحذيرية التي تحظر السباحة في أماكن التجمعات المائية وكذلك عبور الأودية دون الأخذ في الاعتبار قوة التيارات المائية.
وللحد من حوادث الغرق تدعو الهيئة الجميع باتباع إجراءات السلامة والتي من ضمنها ممارسة السباحة في الأماكن المخصصة لذلك، وضرورة تغطية وتسوير آبار المياه بحاجز مرتفع وتغطيتها تفادياُ لسقوط الأطفال أو الحيوانات بها، وأن تكون المسابح مزودة بسلالم ثابتة ومقابض معدنية موزعة على محيط حوض السباحة، كما يجب توفير أطواق نجاة وسترات سباحة، وعدم تعبئة أو ملء الحوض كاملاً في حالة استخدامه من قبل الأطفال، وضرورة تواجد أحد كبار السن لمراقبة الأطفال أثناء ممارستهم للسباحة، وضرورة التأكد من خلو الحوض من الأطفال عند المغادرة. وعند وقوع مثل هذا النوع من الحوادث يجب الاتصال المباشر برقم الطوارئ (9999) أو (24343666).

ومتوسطة تشمل جدة والليث والقنفذة.
أمطار على الرياض
وستتأثر منطقة الرياض بأمطار متوسطة إلى غزيرة تؤدي إلى جريان السيول وتساقط البرد ورياح هابطة مثيرة للأتربة والغبار لتشمل الرياض العاصمة والدرعية وضرما والمزاحمية وحريملاء والخرج والدلم والحريق وحوطة بني تميم ومرات وعفيف والدوادمي والقويعية وشقراء والغاط والزلفي والمجمعة ورماح والرين وثادق.
وأشارت المديرية إلى أن مناطق المدينة المنورة وتبوك وحائل والقصيم والشرقية والحدود الشمالية والجوف والباحة وعسير ستتأثر بأمطار متوسطة إلى غزيرة.

تتهيأ الفرصة لهطول أمطار رعدية متوسطة إلى غزيرة اليوم الاثنين، تؤدي إلى جريان السيول مصحوبة بزخات من البرد ورياح نشطة مثيرة للأتربة والغبار على أجزاء من منطقتي مكة المكرمة والمدينة المنورة تمتد إلى الأجزاء الساحلية الجنوبية من منطقة تبوك.
في حين يستمر تأثير الرياح النشطة المثيرة للأتربة والغبار على أجزاء من منطقتي الرياض ونجران.
كذلك على الأجزاء الشرقية من منطقتي عسير والباحة، يمتد تأتيرها إلى الأجزاء الغربية من منطقتي حائل والجوف.
