السفيرة الزين الصباح تستذكر الدور القيادي للرئيس الراحل جورج بوش الأب في تحرير دولة الكويت

استذكرت سفيرة دولة الكويت لدى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية الشيخة الزين الصباح الدور القيادي المهم للرئيس الراحل جورج بوش الأب في حشد تحالف دولي لتحرير دولة الكويت من الغزو العراقي عام 1990.
جاء ذلك في تصريح أدلت به الشيخة الزين الصباح لوكالة الأنباء الكويتية (كونا) بعد مشاركتها في حفل افتتاح الجناح الجديد لمكتبة جورج بوش الأب تزامنا مع الذكرى المئوية لميلاد الرئيس الراحل وذلك في مقر المكتبة بولاية تكساس الأمريكية.
وأشارت إلى أن الحضور تشرف خلال حفل الافتتاح بالاستماع إلى كلمة مسجلة لحضرة صاحب السمو أمير البلاد الشيخ مشعل الأحمد الجابر الصباح حفظه الله ورعاه أعرب فيها سموه عن أسمى آيات التهاني والتبريكات بمناسبة افتتاح جناح المكتبة الجديد وعن معاني التقدير للرئيس الأمريكي الراحل وما يحظى به من مكانة لدى دولة الكويت حكومة وشعبا.
وأكدت في هذه المناسبة أهمية “الإرث” الذي تركه الرئيس الراحل جورج بوش الأب ودوره في إطار قيادة التحالف الدولي لتحرير دولة الكويت لافتة إلى أن الراحل يحظى بمكانة خاصة في قلوب الكويتيين.
وشددت الشيخة الزين الصباح على أهمية استذكار دور القياديين على غرار الرئيس جورج بوش الأب الراحل ومواقفهم الحازمة إزاء اتخاذ القرارات المناسبة لمساندة الحق وتعزيز المبادئ والقوانين الدولية.
وحظيت كلمة سمو أمير البلاد حفظه الله ورعاه بإشادات واسعة من قيادات الحزب الجمهوري وعلى رأسهم الرئيس السابق جورج بوش الابن الذين كانوا حاضرين في الحفل.
وأعرب جورج بوش الابن في كلمة بالمناسبة عن التقدير الجزيل لما جاء في كلمة سمو أمير البلاد مشيدا بالعلاقات الثنائية المتميزة والتاريخية بين البلدين الصديقين.
