أسماك تحمل نسبة عالية من الزئبق الخطير على الصحة.. فما هي؟

البرازيل – أجرى فريق دولي من العلماء أول تحليل في العالم عن التلوث بالزئبق على مجموعة متنوعة من الأسماك والحيوانات البرية.
وتشير مجلة EcoToxic، إلى أن الفريق الدولي الذي ضم علماء من البرازيل وفرنسا وكندا والولايات المتحدة ودول أخرى، اعتمد في عمله على بيانات التركيب العالمي للزئبق الأحيائي لمعهد بحوث التنوع البيولوجي، التي تضمنت معلومات عن أكثر من 588 ألف عينة لكائنات مختلفة أخذت من 4.
وأظهرت نتائج هذه الدراسة، أن التلوث بالزئبق منتشر على نطاق واسع في المياه البحرية والمياه العذبة حول العالم. أي أن العديد من الأطعمة، بما فيها الأسماك والثدييات البحرية، غالبا ما تحتوي على تركيز عالي من ميثيل الزئبق (مركب زئبقي شديد السمية) يتجاوز المستوى الآمن لصحة الإنسان.
وقد اتضح، أن مستوى الزئبق أعلى من الحد المسموح به في ثلثي (67 بالمئة) من أسماك التونة وأسماك القرش وأسماك مرلين.
وأكثر المناطق الملوثة بالزئبق التي أثارت قلق العلماء كانت البحر الأبيض المتوسط ومنظومة المياه العذبة في أمريكا الجنوبية وبعض مناطق أمريكا الشمالية.
ويأمل الفريق، أن تساهم نتائج عملهم في اتخاذ تدابير وإجراءات لحماية الطبيعة وصحة الإنسان من تأثير المعدن السام.

وبحسب المعلومات المتوفرة، فقد وصل متوسط زمن عبور منطقة الإجراءات باتجاه مملكة البحرين إلى 57 دقيقة، وهو ما يعكس حجم الازدحام الذي يشهده الجسر.
ونصحت الجهات المختصة المسافرين بضرورة أخذ الاحتياطات اللازمة والتخطيط المسبق لسفرهم، واختيار الأوقات المناسبة لتجنب الازدحام والتأخير. كما دعتهم إلى متابعة حالة الطرق والكثافة المرورية عبر تطبيق ”جسر“ أو موقع المؤسسة العامة لجسر الملك فهد على الإنترنت، للاطلاع على آخر المستجدات واتخاذ القرارات المناسبة بشأن توقيت سفرهم.
ويُعتبر جسر الملك فهد من أهم المعابر البرية في المنطقة، حيث يربط بين المملكتين الشقيقتين، ويشهد حركة مرورية نشطة على مدار العام، وخاصة في أيام العطلات والمناسبات.
