نجح مستشفى الدكتور سليمان الحبيب بالخبر، في إجراء عملية دقيقة ومعقدة لاستئصال ورم كبير بالدماغ، وذلك لإنهاء معاناة مريض في العقد الخامس من العمر، كان يشكو من إصابته بحالة من الإغماء المتكرر تحدث لدقائق، ومن ثم العودة لحالته الطبيعية مرة أخرى، بالإضافة إلى تعرضه لنوبات شديدة من التشنجات في كامل الجسم مع الشعور بالصداع، الأمر الذي أفقده القدرة على العمل وأداء مهامه اليومية.

ذكر ذلك الدكتور وسام العيساوي استشاري جراحة المخ والأعصاب والعمود الفقري رئيس الفريق الطبي المعالج. والذي أضاف فور وصول المريض للعيادة والإستماع لشكواه والإطلاع على تاريخه المرضي، تم إخضاعه لمجموعة من الفحوصات بالرنين المغناطيسي (M.R.I) والأشعة المقطعية (C.T Scan) وعدداً من التحاليل المخبرية.

وقال الدكتور وسام أنه بعد اتخاذ التدابير اللازمة، خضع المريض لعملية جراحية دقيقة استغرقت "6" ساعات تحت التخدير العام ، وباستخدام مجموعة من التقنيات المتطورة والميكروسكوب "Pentero Microscope" وأجهزة المراقبة العصبية، وخلال العملية تم فتح الدماغ والوصول للورم وتحريره من التصاقاته بحرص شديد، واستئصاله بالكامل، نقل بعدها إلى العناية المركزة (I.C.U) للمتابعة الحثيثة لحالته الصحية، وقد أبانت الفحوصات الأولية بعد العملية استقرار وضعه.
