"الغارديان": كاميرون فشل في إقناع ترامب بمساعدة كييف

قالت صحيفة "الغارديان" إن محاولات وزير الخارجية البريطاني ديفيد كاميرون لقاء رئيس مجلس النواب الأمريكي مايك جونسون وإقناع دونالد ترامب بمساعدة أوكرانيا، باءت بالفشل.
وحسب الصحيفة، يبدو أن محاولة ديفيد كاميرون لإقناع الرئيس السابق دونالد ترامب بالمساعدة في مسألة موافقة الكونغرس على شريحة جديدة من المساعدات بقيمة 60 مليار دولار لأوكرانيا باءت بالفشل، حيث أنه لم يُمنح حتى فرصة الاجتماع مع رئيس الكونغرس مايك جونسون الذي بإمكانه طرح الحزمة للتصويت.
وفي عشاء خاص في مقر إقامة ترامب في مارالاجو، أثار كاميرون قضية دعم أوكرانيا، وحث ترامب على إدراك أنه من مصلحة الولايات المتحدة "عدم مكافأة فلاديمير بوتين على الاستيلاء على أراضي أوكرانيا".
وأضافت أنه أصر على أنه حتى قمة حلف شمال الأطلسي في واشنطن في يوليو المقبل، سيتم وضع خطط لكل عضو في الحلف للوصول إلى هدف الإنفاق الدفاعي أو تجاوزه.
وتابعت: "حجج كاميرون اصطدمت بالصراع المستمر داخل الحزب الجمهوري، حيث يهدد المتشددون بإقالة رئيس مجلس النواب جونسون إذا طرح للتصويت مشروع قانون الـ60 مليار دولار لكييف".
