تحذيرات أممية من أمطار غزيرة وفيضانات في اليمن

حذرت منظمة الأمم المتحدة للأغذية والزراعة (فاو) من هطول أمطار غزيرة، وفيضانات شديدة ستضرب المرتفعات الوسطى من اليمن خلال الأسبوع المقبل.
وذكرت المنظمة -في بيان لها صادر عن نشرة الإنذار المبكر للأرصاد الجوية الزراعية التابعة لها- أن موسم الأمطار هذا العام سيشهد زيادة في معدلات الهطول في جميع أنحاء اليمن.
وقالت إن التوقعات تشير إلى أن معدل ذروة الهطول سيصل بين 100-150ملم في محافظات إب، وذمار، وعمران، وصنعاء.
وأوضحت أن المرتفعات الوسطى ستشهد أمطاراً غزيرة، وفيضانات مع بداية الأسبوع المقبل وحتى العاشر من أبريل الحالي، حيث تشير التوقعات إلى زيادة في معدلات هطول الأمطار، مع خطر استمرار الفيضانات الكبرى، واتساعها عبر المحافظات حتى نهاية الشهر الحالي.
وأفادت أن هذه الزيادة مقارنة بالأشهر السابقة تؤدي إلى حدوث فيضانات متفرقة، في المناطق الأكثر عرضة للخطر.
وبحسب البيان فإن بعض الزيادة المفاجئة ستؤدي في هطول الأمطار في الجزء الشرقي من البلاد إلى عواصف، ما قد تسبب فيضانات محتملة في بعض المناطق الأكثر عرضة للخطر في محافظة حضرموت.
وطالبت "الفاو" الجهات المعنية بتنفيذ خطط الطوارئ، وتجنب التعرض للمخاطر، لأن الطقس العاصف سيزيد من المخاطر الجسيمة على الأرواح.
