طُلب من أحد أعضائه نزع قلنسوته... الرياض تربط قطع وفد أمريكي زيارته للسعودية بسوء فهم للبروتوكول

بعد قطعه زيارة إلى السعودية بسبب طلب لأحد أعضائه نزع قلنسوته اليهودية، أعلنت المملكة عبر سفارتها في الولايات المتحدة الثلاثاء أن "الحادث المؤسف هو نتيجة لسوء فهم حول البروتوكولات الداخلية".
وكان وفد من اللجنة الأمريكية للحرية الدينية قد أعلن أنه قرر مطلع آذار/مارس قطع زيارة رسمية للسعودية بعدما طلب من أحد أعضائه إزالة القلنسوة اليهودية التي كان يعتمرها.
وقال رئيس اللجنة أبراهام كوبر، وهو حاخام يهودي أرثوذكسي، في بيان "ينبغي ألا يحرم أي شخص من الوصول إلى موقع تراثي، خصوصا إلى موقع يهدف إلى إظهار الوحدة والتقدم، لمجرد كونه يهوديا".
وأضاف "السعودية تدفع من أجل التغيير في إطار رؤية 2030"، في إشارة إلى برنامجها الإصلاحي الطموح الهادف إلى تنويع الاقتصاد.
وتابع البيان "في وقت تتفشى معاداة السامية، فإن الطلب إلي بأن أزيل قلنسوتي، هو أمر قد منعنا، نحن أعضاء اللجنة الأمريكية للحرية الدينية الدولية، من مواصلة زيارتنا" لموقع الدرعية في شمال غرب الرياض والذي أدرجته اليونسكو في لائحة التراث العالمي.
وقالت السفارة السعودية الثلاثاء إن "الأمر أثير مع كبار المسؤولين وأتيحت للسفير فرصة التحدث مع الحاخام"، مضيفة "تم حل الأمر، لكننا نحترم قراره عدم مواصلة الزيارة".
ولجنة الحرية الدينية هي هيئة استشارية حكومية مفوضة من الكونغرس الأمريكي.
وحصلت هذه الواقعة في 5 آذار/مارس وسط توترات بين السعودية وإسرائيل على خلفية الحرب في قطاع غزة والجهود الأمريكية لتطبيع العلاقات بينهما بمجرد انتهاء النزاع.
