العثور على رفات والد الإسكندر المقدوني

أكد علماء الآثار أن البقايا التي عثر عليها عام 1977 في قبر يوناني قديم، تعود إلى فيليب الثاني والد الإسكندر المقدوني.
وتشير صحيفة Daily Mail، إلى أنه منذ البداية كان العلماء يعتقدون أن المقبرة الملكية تحتوي على رفات الأب والابن والأخ الأكبر غير الشقيق للإسكندر المقدوني. ولكن بعد ذلك أعلنوا أنهم أخطأوا في التعرف على الأب والأخ غير الشقيق.
ولكن اتضح لهم الآن أن الهيكل العظمي للأخ غير الشقيق هو بقايا والد الإسكندر المقدوني (فيليب الثاني)، والهيكل العظمي للأب هو بقايا أخيه غير الشقيق.
ويذكر أن فيليب الثاني (عاش خلال أعوام 383 أو 382 - 336 قبل الميلاد) وكان ملك مقدونيا من الأسرة الأرغية، حكم في الفترة من 359 إلى 336 قبل الميلاد. وهو الابن الثالث للملك أمينتاس الثالث، وصل إلى السلطة بعد وفاة أخيه بيرديكاس الثالث. تمكن فيليب الثاني من تحقيق استقرار الأوضاع على حدود مقدونيا وتوحيد البلاد، وأسس جيشا قويا، واتخذ تدابير لتطوير الاقتصاد، وبدأ في صك العملات المعدنية من الذهب و الفضة.
وقد أصبحت مقدونيا في عهده قوية وبدأت تمارس سياسة خارجية نشطة. ومن أجل توسيع نفوذه تزوج نساء من سلالات ملكية، وشن حروبا كثيرة وغزا المستعمرات اليونانية على الساحل الشمالي لبحر إيجه واحدة تلو الأخرى.
وقد استخدم وريث العرش الإسكندر المقدوني الجيش الكبير الذي أسسه والده في إنشاء إمبراطورية عالمية.
