ضرب زلزال بقوة 5.2 درجة على مقياس ريختر اليوم الثلاثاء، مقاطعة نيو بريتين الشرقية شمال شرقي بابوا غينيا الجديدة.

وأفادت هيئة المسح الجيولوجي الأمريكية، بأن مركز الزلزال وقع على بُعد 82 كيلومترًا، من مدينة كوكوبو الواقعة في المقاطعة، وعلى عمق 24.2 كيلومتر، ولم ترد أنباء عن وقوع خسائر بشرية أو مادية جراء الزلزال.
