فيضانات الصومال تدفع أكثر من 113 ألف شخص للنزوح خلال عام

كشف مكتب الأمم المتحدة لتنسيق الشؤون الإنسانية اليوم أن الفيضانات الناجمة عن هطول أمطار غزيرة في أجزاء من الصومال، أدت إلى نزوح أكثر من 113 ألف شخص، وتضرر مئات الآلاف.
ونقلت وكالة رويترز عن المكتب قوله: “إن موسم الأمطار الحالي الذي يمتد من شهر تشرين الأول الماضي إلى كانون الأول القادم شهد هطول أمطار غزيرة، في ولايات بونتلاند وغلمدج جنوب غرب الصومال وهيرشبيلي، وفي المناطق الواقعة على طول نهر جوبا في ولاية جوبالاند، بسبب ظاهرة النينيو.
ووفقاً للبيانات: “تضرر أكثر من 706100 شخص، وغادر أكثر من 113690 شخصاً ديارهم في أنحاء البلاد”، موضحاً أن “ولايات جنوب غرب الصومال وجوبالاند هي الأشد تضرراً، حيث بلغ عدد المتضررين نحو 536608 أشخاص، كما انعزلت 14 ألف أسرة أخرى عن البلدة الرئيسية في مدينة بارديرا.
وهطلت أمطار غزيرة بعد عام من تعرض الدولة الواقعة في منطقة القرن الإفريقي لأسوأ موجة جفاف خلال أربعة عقود، إضافةً إلى تأثير أعمال العنف وارتفاع أسعار المواد الغذائية جراء تداعيات الأزمة الأوكرانية، وهي ظروف أودت بحياة نحو 43 ألفاً في الصومال العام الماضي.
وفي وقت سابق من العام الجاري دفعت الفيضانات ربع مليون شخص إلى ترك منازلهم، بعد أن فاض نهر شبيلي في وسط الصومال وغمر بلدة بلدوين.
