بحمد الله تمكن الفريق الطبي في مستشفى المواساة بالخبر بإشراف الدكتور أحمد النعمي استشاري الأشعة التشخيصية والتداخلية والقسطرة؛ من علاج وشفاء مريضة تبلغ من العمر ٩ سنوات كانت تعاني من ألم شديد وعرجة في الرجل اليسرى.

وبعد خضوع المريضة للفحوصات والصور الشعاعية المطلوب، تبيَّن وجود ورم في عظمة الفخذ، تم علاجه بالتردد الحراري وهو يعتبر من أحدث التقنيات الطبية لعلاج هذا النوع من الأورام، حيث تمت العملية تحت التخدير العام بإجراء التنظير بالأشعة المقطعية دون أي شقوق جراحية، وبدون أي جبيرة.

وتعتبر هذه التقنية بديلاً للجراحة التقليدية والتي تحتاج إلى أشهر للنقاهة والاستشفاء، مع جود جبس خلال هذه الفترة.

وبحمد الله، غادرت المريضة المستشفى في نفس اليوم دون ألم وكانت حركة المشي لديها طبيعية.

الجدير بالذكر أن الأورام العظمية العظمانية (‏Osteoid osteomas)، هي أورام صغيرة جدًا تحدث عند الذين تتراوح أعمارهم بين 5-35 عامًا، وعادة تكون الإصابة بها أكثر ُشُيوعا في العظام الطويلة للطرفين السفليين، ولكنَّها يمكن أن تحدث في أي عظم وتسبب ألم شديد وعرج.
